..(barden writes) "i am building on an existing experiment in using bottles of water filled with layer images. water is a resource that will become scarce in our near future. the last war fought over water was 4,500 years ago in mesopotamia. while religion and oil have driven recent and current wars, water is a resource that has started ... conflicts both on the local and global level. the bloody conflict in darfur, sudan, that began in 2003 and killed as many as 400,000 africans, started, in part, over access to a diminishing water supply. ... [this] piece addresses the small battles having big impacts ... over our bodies, minds, actions and environment. ...the goal is to bring awareness and action."
